SOLVE 3X + Y = 6 FOR Y

      3X + Y = 6

We want to leave just Y on the left, so we
get rid of the 3X by adding its opposite,
-3X, to both sides

      3X + Y = 6
     -3X         - 3X
   --------------------
           Y = 6 - 3X
