Question 469396: I have absolutely no idea how to do this. I have to turn this into a standard form equation. The line that contains (7,1), (p,0) and (0,p), foor p (non equality symbol) 0
Answer by robertb(5830)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Start first with the intercept form for the line.
The reason for this is, two of the given points are the intercepts of the line.
((p,0) is the x-intercept, while (0,p) is the y-intercept.)
The intercept form is , where a = b = p.
Hence, after substitution, .
==> ==> p = 8, and so the equation is x + y = 8.
