Question 459612: I'm 46 years old and working on refreshing my skills. How do I solve this using the substitution method?
x=1/5y
3x+2y=26
Thanks
x=1/5y ...(1)
3x+2y=26 ...(2)
from eq(1)substituting the value of x in eq(2)
3/5y+2y=26
(3y+10y)/5=26
13y=26*5
y=10
and therefore x=2
