parallel means the slope is the same, so the x and y coefficients don't change

the constant term (+8) should be different

to find the new constant term, plug in the coordinates of the point for x and y

3(-4) = -9(-1) + ? ___ -12 = 9 + ? ___ -21 = ?

the new equation is ___ 3y = -9x - 21
