First draw the graph of the boundary line y = x + 5



Now pick any test point to find out which side of
the line to shade.

We can pick any point that is not on the line.  The
easiest point to test is the origin (0,0).

Substitute x=0 and y=0 in y ≧ x + 5 to find out if
the origin is a solution. If it is then all points on
the same side as the origin are solutions and we would
shade the side of the line that the origin is on. If
the origin is not a solution, then all the points on
the other side of the line are solutions and we would 
shade the upper side of the line.

Let's test (0,0) to see if it is one of the solutions:

y ≧ x + 5
0 ≧ 0 + 5
0 ≧ 5

That is false so all the solutions are on the side of the
line which the origin is NOT on, which is the upper side,
so the solution is:



Notice that "greater than OR EQUAL" includes "EQUALS", and
since the graph of the boundary line is y EQUALS x + 5, the
graph includes the line.  We can tell this because it is
≧, not >.  If it had been > we would have drawn the
line dotted, not solid.
