Question 415633: how would i determine whether (-5-4) is a soution of 5x-3y=9 could you please help me with this?
Answer by sheldonxu(4) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You plot x=-5 and y=-4 into the equation to see whether 5x-3y equals to 9.
5*-5-3*(-4)=-13 which does not equal to 9. Therefore, (-5,-4) is not a solution of 5x-3y=9.
For every point to be a solution of an equation, it must make the equation right.
