Hi,
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
Line parallel to: (assuming the x was inadventally omitted)
y = -(1/2)x + 4 Slope m = -(1/2) green line
Parallel lines have same slope
New Line
y = -(1/2)x + b using order pair Pt (-3,5) to solve for b
5 = -(1/2)*-3 + b
7/2 = b
y = -(1/2)x + 7/2 blue line
