Question 389076: Hello there, I'm having trouble with this question, and was wondering if you could please help me. This question is:
without graphing, state the following for the graph of these exponential functions. Y=8^x and Y=(2/7)^x
x & y intercepts, domain and range, intervals of increase or decrease, min. or max point, and equation of the horizontal asymptote.
thankyou kindly
Answer by lwsshak3(11628) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
for both exponential functions,
y=intercept is 1 (when x=0, the function is always equal to 1)
x-intercept, none
domain, all real numbers, -infinity to + infinity
range, (0,infinity) (does not include zero)
functions increase over domain from -infinity to + infinity
no max or min point
equation of asmptote, y=0 or x-axis
One difference between the two exponential functions is that the slope of 8^x is steeper than that of (2/7)^x
