y = 2x - 3 is in the form y = mx + b where m = slope
therefore 2 is the slope of the line and any line parallel
to it must have the same slope.
The point-slope formual is
m+=+%28y+-+y%281%29%29+%2F+%28x+-+x%281%29%29 here (x(1), y(1) = (-2,4)
2+=+%28y+-+4%29+%2F+%28x+-+%28-2%29%29
multiply both sides by %28x+-+%28-2%29%29
2x+%2B+4+=+y+-+4
y+=+2x+%2B+8 answer
The slope is 2 as it should be.
test to see if it goes through the point (-2,4).
4+=+2%2A%28-2%29+%2B+8
4+=+-4+%2B+8
4+=+4
