Write an equation in point-slope form for the line that has slope 1/3 and passes through (-2,8). Thanks for your help. Ian
Sol'n:
Use point-slope form:
y-y1 = m(x-x1)@ (-2,8)
y-8 = 1/3(x+2)
3(y-8) = x+2
3y-24 = x+2
x-3y+22=0 ----answer
