I need to write two equations in standard form that are equivalent to this given equation: 0.11x + 2.3y = -0.3
Writing a linear equation in standard form requires that A,B and C to be integers.
It requires the equation to be written as Ax + By = C.
We can do this by multiplying each side of the equation by 100.
100(0.11x + 2.3y) = 100(-0.3)
applying the distributive
property yields: 11x + 230y = -30
We can now say that the equation is in standard form,
it is in the Ax + By = C form!
