Question 359499: Find the slope and y intercept. Write fraction in lowest terms.
y = -1/6x - 2/3
is the slope -1/6
y intercept would i take the 1/6 and multiply by 6/1 to get x +12/3 (simplified x + 4, so the y interecept would be (0,4) Is that correct?
Thank you.

Answer by mananth(16946) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y = -1/6x - 2/3
yes slope is -1/6
plug value of x = 0 to get the y intercept
y=0-2/3
y= -2/3

The equation is already in slope-intercept form
So you just need to find the m which is the slope, and the b which is the y-intercept.
The m is just the coefficient of the x variable, in this case -1/6
The b is just the other part of the right side of the equation, in this case -2/3
m=-1/6
y-intercept=-2/3
The y-intercept can also be written as (0,-2/3)
I hope this helps!
