Question 352383: Find the slope for (-10, -11) and (-16, -20)
I know that y2 - y1/x2 - x1
so I have -10 - (-11)/-16 - (-20)
This is where I get messed up!! Is -10 - (-11) positive 21? and -16 - (-20) a positive 36? This confuses me. I know that the figure will turn positive, but not sure then if these would be added or what.
Thank you for your help!

Answer by edjones(8007)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(y[2] - y[1])/(x[2] - x[1]) = m
(-10, -11) and (-16, -20)
=(-20-(-11))/(-16-(-10))
=(-20+11)/(-16+10)
=-9/-6
=3/2
