Graph the function f(x)= 2 * (3^x) - 5. Indicate the horizontal asymptote (which I believe is y=-5) also find the X-intercept (exact solution and then round to four decimal places.)
Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I'll try to plot some points and then refer to the graph
y-intercept:
when x = 0, y = -3
-----------------------
x-intercept:
take log base 10 of both sides
when y = 0, x = .834
-----------------
asymptote:
When x approaches -infinity, 2 * 3^x approaches 0,
and y approaches -5
