Question 342420: Three points that form the vertices of a triangle are: (-4,3), (-7, -1), (3, -2)
Use the distance formula to determine if the triangle is a right triangle.
Please explain in detail how to get the answer.
Solution manual is saying to use the Slope calcualtion m = (y sub2 - y sub1) / (x sub2 - x sub1).
I thought the distance formula was d = square root of (x sub2 - x sub1) + (y sub2 - y sub1)???

Three points that form the vertices of a triangle are: (-4,3), (-7, -1), (3, -2)
Use the distance formula to determine if the triangle is a right triangle.
-----------------
The distance is:
diffy = difference of y's
Subtract, then square.
For (-4,3) and (-7,-1):
------------
