Question 33259: (1)5x-y=5
(2) x+3y=6
(3) graph y=3x
(4) graph (-7, -4) and (-1, -10).

There are a couple ways to solve this, one way is slope, y-intercept form;
which is; y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y-intercept
For number 1 and 2 we will first put them in this form;
1)5x-y=5
-y=-5x+5
y=5x-5
slope=5
y-intercept=-5
2)x+3y=6
3y=-x+6
y=
y=-x+2
slope= -x
y-intercept= 2
3)is already in slope intercept form;
y=3x
4)you are given the points, so you need to put this in slope intercept form, but first you need to find the slope;
m=
m==-1
Now with the form point-slope you need to put this in slope-intercept form;
use either point given to find equation;
y-y=m(x-x)
y-(-4)=-1(x-(-7))
y+4=-1(x+7)
y+4=-x-7
y=-x-3
Hope you understand!
