Question 329690: What is the solution set for this problem?
4(r-8)+1>5(r+2)-25
please explain how you got the answer thank you!

Answer by grace77(4)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1. you have to use the distributive property..
so...
you have to multiply 4 to 'r' and '8'
=
4r-32 +1. and for the other side, do the same thing,
so multiply 5 to 'r' and '2'. = (5r+10) -25.
put together is...
(4r-32) +1 > (5r+10)-25.

2. Start with the left side.
Subtract 1 from 32. = 4r-33.
The right side: add 25 to 10. = 5r+35.
Put together: 4r-33 > 5r+35.
and all i know is till there.
i hoped i helped...a bit :]
