Question 328721: How do you come up with the numbers in the tables when trying to graph linear equations? I get that you need to plug in a number for the x variable and times that number but my numbers don't match up with anyone else's. Can I get examples to how how should be doing this? How do I complete the table then graph it with the right variables being plugged in?

You are on the right track.
Make a table with 2 columns and several rows (for a line you only need three rows)
Label the top row - X in one column, y in the other
Then pick a value for x and write it in the first empty row.
Use that value of x in the givne equation and solve for y.
Enter that value for y in the other open cell in the same row.
Do this for several values of x -- findint the cooresponding valeu for y.
Then draw a cartesian plane. Label x and y axis on the plane
Now plot the points from the table (x,y)
Then draw in the curve that fits that set of plotted points.
Again, if the eqaution is linear, your only need two points.
