Find the slope of the line that passes through the points (3, -5) and (-5, -6)
The slope of the joining two given points A(x1,y1) and B(x2,y2) is given by
m= (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
Therefore the slope of the joining two given points A(3,-5) and B(-5,-6) is given by
m = [(-6)-(-5)]/[(-5)-(3)] (here x1 = 3,y1 = -5; x2 = -5, y2 = -6)
m= (-6+5)/(-5-3)
m= (-1)/(-8)
m= 1/8
The slope of the given line is (1/8)
