Question 30342: Determine the x-intercept and y-intercept fo the graph with equation 3x+5y=15
Answer by josmiceli(19441) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x+5y=15
put this in the slope-intercept form which is
y = mx + b
first subtract 3x from both sides
5y = -3x + 15
divide both sides by 5
y = (-3/5)*x + 3
you get the y-intercept by setting x = 0
y-intercept = +3
you get the x intercept by setting y = 0
0 = (-3/5)*x + 3
3/5 * x= 3
x = (5/3)*3
x = 5
