f(x)=x^2-2x-9 (0,-9) Y intercept.
x=(2+-sqrt[-2^2-4*1*-9])/2*1
x=(2+-sqrt[4+36)/2
x=(2+-sqrt40)/2
x=(2+-6.32456)/2
x=8.32456/2
x=4.16 ans. (4.16,0) X intercept.
x=(2-6.32456)/2
x=-4.32456/2
x=-2.16 ans. (-2.16,0) X intercept.
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, x^2 -2x -9).

Just like every other function, create a table of x,y data points.
Choose a range, how about x from -5 to 5.
Then for each x, use the function to get y.

Then take your next x, x=-4 and do the same.

Then draw a line through all of the points.
The more points you have the smoother the graph will look.
