Answer by josmiceli(19441)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
what are the variables?
They are the things that can vary
The number of mistakes found can vary
the amount earned varies but it depends on number of mistakes found
That's important
The number of mistakes found does NOT depend on amount earned
So its a one-way street, though they're directly related
call e the amount earned- it's the DEpendant vaiable because it's
DEpendant on mistakes found
call m the number of mistakes found
It's the INdependant variable, because it makes the other variable change,
not the other way around
You need to get this in order to draw graphs!
e = .065m is the equation
ALWAYS put the DEpendant variable on the vertical axis
That would be e
So it's a straight line that goes though the origin with slope = .065
m is on the horizontal axis
