To find the x-intercept, let y = zero; then solve for x:
-12x + 0 = 28
-12x = 28
x = -7/3

The x-intercept is the value of x when the line crosses the x-axis which is when y = 0. So substitute 0 for y below and solve for x:
-12x+y=28
-12x + 0 = 28
-12x = 28
x = -28/12
x = -7/3
So the ordered pair for the x-intercept is y=0 and x=-7/3 or (-7/3,0).
The y-intercept is the value of y when the line crosses the y-axis which is when x = 0. So substitute 0 for x below and solve for y:
-12x+y = 28
-12*0 + y = 28
y = 28
