Solve the equations by substitution.
1.) 8y - 1 = x
2.) 3x = 2y
From 1.) we know that x = 8y - 1
Substitute 8y - 1 for x in equation 2.) and solve for y:
3*x = 2y
3*(8y - 1) = 2y
24y - 3 = 2y
22y = 3
y = 3/22
Now substitute 3/22 for y in either equation 1.) or 2.) and solve for x.
