Problem is : 6x+2y=16 & -2x+y=-2

Put the equations in slope-intercept form.
---
y = -3x+8
y = 2x-2
----------
Plot 2 points for each equation and draw a line thru each pair.
y = -3x+8
Let x=0, then y=8 giving you point (0,8)
Let x=1, then y=5 giviing you point (1,5)
Plot and draw the line to see the graph:

y = 2x-2
Let x=0, then y = -2 giving you point (0,-2)
Let x=1, then y = 0 giving you point (1,0)
Plot and dras the line to see the graph:

easy graphing -- for us parents...
let x equal zero and solve for y ___ this is the y-intercept -- where the line crosses the y-axis
then, let y equal zero and solve for x ___ this is the x-intercept
connect the two intercepts to graph the line
do the same for the other equation and find the intersection of the lines
you can "check" the intersection point by solving the two equations using substitution
-2x+y=-2 ___ y = 2x - 2
substituting ___ 6x + 2(2x - 2) = 16 ___ 6x + 4x - 4 = 16 ___ 10x = 20 ___ x = 2
substituting ___ y = 2(2) - 2 ___ y = 2
the point of intersection should be (2,2)
