i asked some people i knew if they could tell me what the (1) and (2) was for and they said its just the number of equations. But I think its goes in the equations. Not really sure how to do any of it. Hope you can help.

x=4-2y --> x+2y=4

x+2y can't equal both 4 and 5.
--> inconsistent, no solution.
If you graph them, you get 2 parallel lines, no intersection.
