slop is what you feed to pigs.
I believe you mean slope ( slant)
the slope form of the linear equation is y=mx+b where m is the slope.
so put your equation in that format.
y=-x+5
m is-1
that means that it slants down from left to right
Solved by pluggable solver: DESCRIBE a linear EQUATION: slope, intercepts, etc
Equation describes a sloping line. For any
equation ax+by+c = 0, slope is .
  • X intercept is found by setting y to 0: ax+by=c becomes ax=c. that means that x = c/a. 5/1 = 5.
  • Y intercept is found by setting x to 0: the equation becomes by=c, and therefore y = c/b. Y intercept is 5/1 = 5.
  • Slope is -1/1 = -1.
  • Equation in slope-intercept form: y=-1*x+5.

How do you find the slop of the linear equation given here... x + y = 5
---------
Solve for y.
y = -x + 5
That is the "slope intercept" form, y = mx + b
m is the slope, b is the y-intercept.
----------------
The slope, m, is -1.

The standard slope-intercept form of a line is
y = m*x + b where m is the slope of the line.
So the line x + y = 5 in standard form is:
y = -x + 5
The slope then is -1.
