Question 246653: find the equation for the line that passes through the point (5,3), and that is parallel to the line with the equation y=3/4x +3/4

y=3/4x +3/4 (red line). This line has a slope=3/4.
Thus a parallel line will also have a slope=3/4 and passing through (5,3)is:
3=3*5/4+b
3=15/4+b
b=3-15/4
b=(3*4-15)/4
b=(12-15)/4
b=-3/4 the Y intercept.
Y=3X/4-3/4 (green line).
