I don't know whether or not it makes "sence." I've never seen anything that makes "sence" and I don't even know what "sence" is. Your question does make sense, however. And yes, spelling does count, even in mathematics.

If gets bigger when gets bigger, then the variation is direct. If gets smaller when gets bigger, then the variation is indirect.
