Can someone help me with this problem, I have been out of school for 20 year and I having trouble with this problem.
find an equation of the line meeting the specified conditions, write answer is slope intercept form line is containing pt (2,6) and parallel to y=-4x-1

The slope, m, of y = -4x-1 is -4.
All lines parallel to it will have the same slope.
--------------
Use y = mx + b and the point to find b.
6 = -4*2 + b
b = 14
------
y = -4x + 14 is the answer.
