Question 241416: Solve the system of equations.
2x - 5y = 6
4x - 10y = 30
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve the system of equations.
2x - 5y = 6
4x - 10y = 30
-----------------------
Multiply thru the 1st equation by 2 to get:
4x - 10y = 12
4x - 10y = 30
------------------
Subtract the 1st from the 2nd and you get this contradiction:
0 = 18
-----------------
This means the lines are parallel; there is no point common
to the two lines. There is no solution.
