Before you can graph y%3C-x-4, first graph y = -x-4, which is a straight line with y intercept -4 and slope -1. This means to plot the y-intercept by going DOWN 4 units on the y axis. The the slope of -1 means -1%2F1=+%28rise%29%2F%28run%29. With your pencil on the y-intercept at -4, go DOWN 1 and RIGHT 1 unit and put another point. Graph this line as a DOTTED line because the inequality y%3C-x-4 with the symbol "<" means DO NOT INCLUDE THE LINE. Also shade BELOW the line. In algebra.com I can only draw the line for you. You will need to make it a DOTTED LINE, and you will have to shade BELOW the line.
