Question 230778: how do i solve 3x+2y=6 using intercept
Answer by checkley77(12844)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3x+2y=6
Setting y=0 you find the x intercept thus:
3x+2*0=6
3x=6
x=6/3
x=2 or (2,0)
Now set x=0 and find the y intercept.
3*0+2y=6
2y=6y=6/2
y=3 or (0,3)
The line equation is:
2y=-3x+6
y=-3x/2+6/2
y=-3x/2+3
Proof:
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 10, -3x/2 =3).
