I am sure that u have figured this one out by now, but for future reference always remember to put the equation in y=mx+b form, then if they are parallel the slopes will be the same (m). If they are perpendicular the slopes will be the negitive reciprocol of the slope. (m) for example if one line has a slope of 1, a perpendicular line would have the slope of -1/2
