Question 227192: i have some questions i am stuck on translating problems into equations . i need help with problem 4 which is ... the atomic weight of an element is the sum of the protons and neutrons in the element.the atomic number indicates the number of protons. how many neutrons are in an atom of iodine?
and it gives a chart that has Kr, NE , i , Os and Au.

If the weight is Protons plus Neutrons and the number is Protons, subtract the Atomic Number from the Atomic Weight.
