Question 22709: how do i solve y=mx+b graph questions

Its really quite simple. If they give you a line with two coordinates, to find slope you do y-sub2-ysub1 divided by x-sub2-x-sub1. For example: (3,3) (2,2) your equation would be (2-3) divided by (2-3) so your slope would be -1 over -1 as a fraction or simplified just simply 1. Then to find b(y-intercept)you pick a set of coordiantes and plug them into y=mx+b form and then solve the equation. For exapmle: 2=1(2)+b, 2=2+b, Then solve it by subtracting your x(2) by your y which is 2 so then 0=b. Then plug it into the equation. y=1x+0 or simply y=1x
