Use the intercepts to graph the equation
Step 1. Intercepts occur when one of the coordinates x or y is equal to zero.
Step 2. Let x=0 then 2y=4 or y=2. So we have the point (0,2).
Step 3. Let y=0 then x=4. So we have the other point (4,0).
Step 4. The graph is shown below using these two points:
