Question 22253: what is the equation of a line with slope of 2 and passing through the point(8,1)?
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The equation of a line is y = mx + b where "m" is the slope.
Substitute m=2, x=8, and y=1 into the equation to find "b"
1 = 2(8) + b
b = -15
The the equation you are looking for is y = 2x - 15
