Question 214225: Write an equation of a line that has slope -5 and y-intercept 2
Answer by drj(1380) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Write an equation of a line that has slope -5 and y-intercept 2
Step 1. The equation of a line in slope-intercept form is y=mx+b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. Note the y-intercept occurs when x=0 or at the point (0,b).
Step 2. Substituting m=-5 and b=2, we have y=-5x+2. Note at x=0, y=2 or the y-intercept.
I hope the above steps were helpful.
