HOW WOULD I DO THESE PROBLEMS?
Answer by elima(1433) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4X+3<11 , 3X+2<2X+5 , 5X+4+14
Don't let the inequality sign scare you! You would solve these just as if they were = sign instead of inequality sign.
4x+3<11
Subtract 3 from both sides;
1)4x+3-3<11-3
4x<8
Now divide both sides by 4;
<
x<2
2)3x+2<2x+5
First subtract 2 from both sides;
3x+2-2<2x+5-2
3x<2x+3
Subtract 2x from both sides;
3x-2x<2x+3-2x
x<3
3)5x+4=14
I'm assuming you just typed this problem wrong and it should be an = sign. I hope I am correct. Here's how to solve it if so:
5x+4=14
Subtract 4 from both sides;
5x+4-4=14-4
5x=10
Divide both sides by 5;
=
x=2
Hope you understand
