3x-y=4,,,,obviously,,,3x-4=y,,,from y=mx+b,,,,m=3
.
to find slope without this, try evaluating two points on graph
.
when x=0,,y=-4,,,,,,,when x=1,,,,y=-1
.
now,,,,m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) ={-4-(-1)}/{0-1} = -3/-1 = 3,,,,,,as above
.
Remember the slope is rise over run, and we only have to review numerator if denominator is +1.,,,,,,,,(-1-(-4)) =3
.
When there are negatives, however, it is best to use full formula
