Question 200678: Hi everyone, Im looking for some help and guidance with the following graphing and equations problems. Id like to learn how to do the following equations, so step by step solutions would be great.
1. Find the equation of the line passing through the point (-2,5) and parallel to the y axis.
2. A line passes through the point (1,3) and (2,5). Find the euation of this line.
3. Find the y-intercept, the x-intercept, if any, and turning point of the function: y=2x^2-8x+9.
If someone could show me the full workings of the previous problems that would be awesome.

Answer by rfer(16322)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
1) y=mx+b
y=0x+5
2) y=mx+b
y=2x+1
3) The discriminate is -8. It has no real solution.
If you are using imaginary numbers you can solve, but I can't help you there.
