How would you graph this system of inequalities:
y>2x-4
Graph the boundary line as a dashed line:
y = 2x-4
If x = 0, y = -4 : plot the point (0,-4)
If x = 2, y = 0 ; plot the point (2,0)
Draw a dashed line thru thru the two points
Shade the half-plane above the line because you
want the y to be greater than 2x-4
--------------------------------------------
x+3y<-3
3y < -x-3
y < (-1/3)x -1
Let x = 0, then y = -1 ; plot the point (0,-1)
Let x = 3, then y = 0 ; plot the point (3,0)
Draw a dashed line thru the two points.
Shade the half-plane below the boundary because
you wan the y to be less than (-1/3)x-1

The solution set is the intersection of the two
half-planes.
