On the real number line, we have this:

At unit 4, place an OPEN CIRCLE and color everything to the left of 4.
The problem asks you to graph all numbers
that are less than 4.
At unit 6, place an OPEN CIRCLE and color everything to the right of 6.
The problem asks you to graph all numbers
that are greater than 6.
