I am having some trouble solving and graphing inequalities using interval notation. Someone please help?? Thanks.
x+5<9 and 3x-1<2
-----------------------------------
Simplify each inequality statement:
x < 4 AND 3x < 3
x < 4 AND x < 1
The only way x can be less than 4 and also less than 1
is to have x be less than 1
---------------------------------
The way to graph this is:
1. Draw a number line.
2. Put an open circle around the point labeled x = 1.
3. Draw an arrow starting at the point and going to
the left.
