Answer by Mathtut(3670)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
5x+6y<30
:
6y<-5x+30
:
y<(-5/6)x+5
:
so the boundry line is y=(-5/6)x+5. It is a dotted line because it is excluded.
take points from each side of the line, to see which points make the statement y<(-5/6)x+5 true. This will show you which side is shaded. For example try (0,0) 0<(-5/6)0+5--->0=5....this is a true statment
:
now try (6,6) which is on the other side of the line 6<(-5/6)6+5--->6<-5+5
:
6<0---> which is NOT a true statment...so we know the shaded area will be on th side of the line that contains (0,0)
