Find the slope of a line given the points that are on the line (1. -3), (-3. 4)
Answer by nerdybill(7384) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This site will help:
http://www.algebralab.org/lessons/lesson.aspx?file=Geometry_CoordSlope.xml
.
You were given two points:
(1. -3), (-3. 4)
(x1,y1) = (1. -3)
(x2,y2) = (-3. 4)
.
Slope is then defined as:
m = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
m = (4-(-3))/(-3-1)
m = (4+3)/(-3-1)
m = 7/(-4)
m = -7/4 (this is your slope)
.
