Question 17700: y=4-(x-2)^2 idntify the intercepts
Answer by xcentaur(357)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
for y-intercept put x=0
for x-intercept put y=0
in the given equation,

y=4-(x-2)^2
4-(x-2)^2=0
4-(x^2+4-4x)=0
4-x^2-4+4x=0
-x^2+4x=0
x(4-x)=0
x=0 or 4-x=0
x=0 or x=4
Then the x-intercepts are: (0,0) and (4,0)

For y-intercept put x=0
y=4-(x-2)^2
y=4-(0-2)^2
y=4-(-2)^2
y=4-4
y=0
So y-intercept is (0,0)

Hope this helps,
