Question 174994: Please help me find the point slope form of an equation with the slope 3/5 that passes through the point (10,-2)
Answer by actuary(112)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The point-slope form of the equation can be found by using the equation
(y-y1)=m*(x-x1)
where m is the slope and {x1,y1) is the given point. Substitute the values for the corresponding variables in the general equation
y-(-2)=3/5*(x-10)
This can be simplified to y+2=3/5*(x-10)
In slope y-intercept form the equation is
y=3/5*x-3/5*10-2= 3/5x-6-2= 3/5x-8
y=(3/5)*x-8
