Question 17111: What is the slope and y-intersept for y=9x+5?
Answer by rapaljer(4671) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
When the equation of a line is in slope intercept form, that is, y = mx+b, then:
The y-intercept is always the constant coefficient which is 5.
The slope is always the coefficient of x, which in this case is 9 or 9/1. This graph is REALLY steep. You didn't ask for a graph, but I'm posting one anyway. It's SO easy!!
See my recently posted lesson plan on Graphing and Slope of a Line.
